Our story

A family business rooted in Garhwa

The family's book business began in Purani Bazaar, Garhwa in 2002–2003 under Mr. Shambhu Sharan Singh.

On 20 November 2009, the family opened Pustak Vihar General Store, a separate shop that was primarily run by Mrs. Geeta Devi.

The original market book shop served customers until 2023. After leaving that location, the family moved the book business to its current order-and-pickup arrangement: you send a list, we prepare it, and you collect it.

Today Mr. Shambhu Sharan Singh and Mrs. Geeta Devi lead the business, with their sons Nitish Kumar Singh and Harsh Kumar Singh helping with orders and the website.

Timeline

  1. 2002–2003

    Mr. Shambhu Sharan Singh starts the family's book business in Purani Bazaar, Garhwa.

  2. 20 November 2009

    The family opens a separate shop, Pustak Vihar General Store, run mainly by Mrs. Geeta Devi.

  3. 2023

    The original Purani Bazaar market shop serves its last customers.

  4. Today

    Customers send their book list; the family prepares the order for pickup.
